"I've never received any formal training in photography. In that sense, I am no more a photographer than anyone else who owns a camera. The only difference, if any, is that I spend a little more time observing.

"As a child, I had a tendency to quietly watch others, to wonder why they were so busy running around, and to seek to turn such fleeting observations into permanent understanding. This tendency has developed into two of my lifelong interests: psychological research, by which I seek to capture human behaviors in academic papers, and arts, by which I seek to capture human experiences in paintings and photos."

–Christopher Hsee, Theodore O. Yntema Professor of Behavioral Science and Marketing, first picked up a camera when he was 15.
