saw street performers who juggled in their underwear, missed my
connecting train from Porto to Madridwhich led to my binge of
consuming tons of sangria, vino verde and port wine. She has
started at Booz Allen along with Amy Chiang, Mike Doherty, Emily
Lo, and Pat Hallinan.
MARCIA HUNT reports that she is now working on Minute Rice at
Kraft and learning more information about rice than I ever thought

neighborhood and recently saw the Stones with Jay Linney. In her
free time, she is enjoying recreational reading.
DIANE IVANOVICH reports that after a marathon series of good-byes
to her fellow graduates at Chicago bars, she was off to Washington,
D.C. Her hopes of meeting her idol, Alan Greenspan, were dashed.
Then she returned to her familial homeland, Croatia, and spent
part of her summer island hopping. (Croatia has more than 1,000
islands). The next hop took her to Kenya and Tanzania for a safari
with Anne Goebel. The trip was adventuresome. We were charged
by an elephant, I almost got bit by a lion, and Anne almost got
thrown out of a curio shop for too much bargaining, she writes.
All too soon, Citibank shipped her off to London to begin training.
Summer was over, but the excitement wasnt; like an enterprising
journalist, she was the first to report Princess Dianas accident
to family and friends. Ivanovich was staying two blocks from the
Kensington Palace and reports that she placed flowers at the Palace
gate. She also saw the casket when it was driven by. Too close
and too eerie, she writes.

Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa. She traveled four days up the 20,000+
foot mountain, where the temperatures reached as low as 20 degrees
below zero. She claims her seven-week trip to Africa was an unbelievable,
storybook experience. Not to be outdone by some of her classmates
in terms of total travel time this summer, Victoria also traveled
throughout Europe for more than a month. She hit her favorite
spot, the Greek Islands, as well as Poland, Hungary, Austria,
and Germany. Back to reality as of late October, she has started
working at Andersen Consulting in Chicago.
BRIAN MARCUS and JONATHON ZANG spent their summers traveling to
Israel and the Sinai Desert.

Switzerland. With coconspirators ANDY SONG and LARRY TAYLOR, Eric
had fun in Belgium for a few days before his companions went biking
in France and Switzerland. After a short training stint in New
York, Mark is settled in London with Morgan Stanley, where he
is challenged to the point that he barely has time to look for,
or even think about, an apartment.

report that his wife, Adriana, is now in the United States. We
waited for five months while the American Embassy in Brazil processed
her papers and finally gave her a visa to come here, Merk reports.
She arrived in late June and we soon took off on a tour of America.
We drove cross-country from Washington, D.C. to Las Vegas and
back, stopping off at a few different places along the way. We
hit Nashville (yee-haw), Memphis (home of the king), New Orleans
(Nawlins), Dallas (didnt see JR), Grand Canyon (yodelay-hee-hoo),
and finally Las Vegas (the town Nicholas Cage cant get out of).

better than $250). Merk recently joined Mobil in Washington,
D.C., and is working hard to get a grip on this huge industry.

Antonio. Scuba diving with Zapp on the Great Barrier Reef was

after graduation. While many of his classmates were traveling
around the world, Francisco began his work at J.P. Morgan . He
says he is settled in at work and at home, and his social life
has never been better!
GISELE SCHEINKMAN is working for Credit Agricole-Indosuez in her
homeland, Brazil. Though she is living in San Paulo, Gisele can
be found on the beaches of Rio de Janeiro each weekend. Scheinkman
says guests are welcome, preferably on the weekend.

in Bedford, New York, on July 13. Fellow GSBers Rich Hansen and

A romantic honeymoon to secluded areas of the Pacific Northwest
and Canadian Rockies followed. Schmeltz now lives in Wilmette,

driving around the heartland.

in a bar while standing in front of the speakers. After their
California adventures, the Subramaniams moved to New York, where
they checked out the tourist spots before settling in and starting
work. Its a good thing they enjoyed their vacation, because on

and having a wonderful time.

on what a great tool they are and how the investment community
uses multiple-based analysis when performing valuations.
CATHY R. WILKERSON and DWIGHT A. WILLIAMS, 96, were married on
May 31 in Chicago with several GSB alums in attendance. The couple
honeymooned in Ixtapa, Mexico. Cathy is vice president and research

consultant in the financial services/insurance consulting practice
at KPMG Peat Marwick L.L.P. in Chicago. They currently live in
the South Loop.

assistant for Contadina refrigerated pasta and sauces. He and
MIKE FERTMAN have been hanging out in Coventry Village, the Bucktown
of Cleveland, and in the Flats, which is like the cheesy part
of Lincoln Avenue. Hes learning to appreciate the Indians and
the Cavaliers, whose tickets can actually be bought by the public
at face value. Hes been to the Jake and the Rock n Roll Hall
of Fame, and has rollerbladed in a few of the citys many parks.
When not in Cleveland, Weiner has seen lots of GSB friends in
both Chicago and New York, and he was finally on the other side
of GSB recruiting recently. He looks forward to seeing everyone
in their new homes as he makes field visits to supermarkets around
the nation.
LOUISA WOODenjoyed the summer traveling through Europe, where
DAVE LYNCH led the group deep into Spanish culture with his Spanish

their Spanish in Barcelona, Emily Lo supporting the economy of
the Italian fashion designers in Italy, Rich Hansen roaming the
Florentine streets, and Jason Kofman eating his way through Sienna.
Marcia Hunt joined the fun for a weeks of wine and champagne tasting
in the Burgundy region of France. Wood is now in San Francisco
with fellow grads Marianne Llewellyn, Robbie Lambrix, Eric Westmore,
Dave Scott, Aneysha Pearce, and Tim Brennan. Its too bad that
corporate life does not lend itself to the Thursday Night Drinking
Club, considering all the new watering holes to explore in the
city, she writes.

this summer with fellow GSBers before beginning his job at ZS

recommends. Yoder is with Price Waterhouse Consulting in Chicago.

Lebanon, southeast Asia, and his native Brazil with his girlfriend,
