“I started riding to work when I moved to Chicago from Boston five years ago. In summer, it’s great to be out early in the morning down by the lake, where it’s beautiful. Chicago is an incredible city, and the lakefront is one of the best things about it.”
Matthew Gentzkow, professor of economics and Neubauer Family Fellow, was photographed by Chris Strong riding home from work. Gentzkow’s 20-kilometer route from Harper Center in Hyde Park to Chicago’s Wicker Park neighborhood takes him along Lake Michigan and west on Division Street, a 40-minute door-to-door trip he makes on his LeMonde steel-frame road bike about four days a week during fair weather.—P.H.
