Marketing Curriculum

Curriculum That Transforms Professionals

Chicago Booth provides a rigorous curriculum to prepare students for careers in marketing, general management, consulting, entrepreneurship, and beyond. Beginning with a core course that introduces students to the substantive and procedural aspects of marketing, the flexible curriculum offers a wide menu of electives to choose from.

Our Tools/Knowledge electives provide a solid foundation in key building blocks that shape marketing decision making. The Marketing Decisions electives allow students to pursue a focused study of key marketing decisions. Students seeking industry-specific exposure can choose from the Implementation electives.

Booth focuses on building a combination of strong strategic and analytical skills. As the field of marketing becomes more data-driven, students learn to use data in generating actionable insights for better decision making.

Marketing faculty also integrate core disciplines into their classes - economics, psychology, statistics, and sociology - giving students a breadth of understanding in many functional areas and the ability to effectively integrate and lead efforts across different business functions.

Our courses provide in-depth exposure to leading-edge marketing tools and concepts. Students also have opportunities to gain hands-on experience applying the theories and tools learned in the classroom to real-world problems through several marketing lab courses.
