The Current Environment of University Startups

Join Bob Okabe, Co-founder and Managing Director of RPX Group, as he presents the current activity, trends and challenges for University startups. Okabe will discuss startup activity at universities across the nation, highlighting their success rates, funding opportunities, and the effectiveness of their programs designed to support technology startups on campus.

Founded in 2002, the RPX Group works with universities, research labs, and corporations to create startup ventures from their innovative technologies.

In addition to RPX, Okabe is the director and head of the education committee for the Angel Capital Education Foundation. He is also one of four lead instructors in the United States for Kauffman Power of Angel Investing, a series of education programs about angel investing developed by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, with content provided by angel experts and angel group leaders from around the country.
