How does today’s leader draw the interest and support of employees? Part of the answer lies in having the performance skills to translate ideas into compelling messages that attract followers.

What performance skills drive leadership? An effective leader performs three discrete roles. Leaders as actors have the power to guide others to what really matters as well as skillfully maintain connection with diverse audiences. Leaders as directors have the tools that align all “cast” members to the same strategy. Leaders as playwrights know how to rewrite scripts to meet new strategic challenges. Leadership is performance and great performance skills can be learned.
