Cornel Chirac, Class of 2012

Undergraduate School/Major: I attended law school and business school in Moldova and transferred to Appalachian State University where I graduated magna cum laude with degrees in finance, banking, economics, and international business.

Prior to Booth: I worked in general management in the Philippines and China, opened two entrepreneurship ventures in E. Europe and USA, and successfully led an SAP implementation as a consultant.

Activities: I am a LEAD facilitator; I'm also a member of the Wine Club, Epicurean Club, Private Equity Group, Entrepreneurship and Venture Capital Group, and Management Consulting Group.

Career plans: I spent my summer in Boston with L.E.K. Consulting where I did a due diligence project for a PE client and a strategy repositioning  study for major electronics and appliance retailer. After graduation I will be joining the L.E.K. Consulting London practice.

Why did you choose to attend Chicago Booth? To shake all that I learned up to this point through a challenging academic environment and an engaging community, plus to open up my options for life.

What do you consider a "must visit" place in Chicago? Spend a summer evening in Millennium Park sipping a bottle of wine and listening to one of many music performances that this great city offers!

Ask me about...: LEAD, entrepreneurship, academics at Booth, pursuing consulting or PE as a career.
