Undergraduate School/Major: I attended American University and majored in international finance.
Prior to Booth: I started my career as a business analyst for an oil and gas investor and an assistant fund manager on the Africa desk for an asset manager. I spent the three years before business school at a British private equity fund focused on frontier markets and based out of Sierra Leone and Liberia.
Concentrations: Finance and strategic management.
Activities: Member of the Chicago Africa Business Group, Investment Banking Group and Chicago Women in Business.
Career plans: I am recruiting for investment banking.
Why did you choose Chicago Booth? I chose to apply to and then attend Booth because of its strong reputation in the business world and its flexible curriculum. I wanted to jump right into the program by choosing the courses I found relevant to my new career goals.

What do you consider a "must visit" place or "must do" activity in Chicago? "Freedom Friday" is a sometimes-themed party planned once a month at different bars around Chicago. It attracts a young professional crowd. The latest event was organized in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Prior to Booth: I worked for eight years in the healthcare industry for a Fortune 14 company focusing on process improvement (lean and six sigma), IT Service management and project management.
Concentrations: Entrepreneurship, finance, and strategic management.
Activities: Member of the Management Consulting Group, AAMBAA, Operation Strategy Group and DSAC.
Career plans: I am recruiting for consulting.
Why did you choose Chicago Booth? I was drawn to Booth's strong quantitative and discipline-based teaching approach. I experienced this approach first hand when I attended two classes during my campus visits.The flexible curriculum was very attractive because I felt it will provide me to the opportunity to chart my own path. I chose to to attend Booth because I felt the experience will equip me with the skills needed to adapt to the ever-changing business world. As a career switcher, this was very important to me.
