Sami Arayssi, Class of 2013

Undergraduate School/Major: I graduated from American University of Beirut and majored in computer and communications engineering.  I also attended graduate school at Stanford University and obtained a MS in electrical engineering.

Prior to Booth: I was a software engineer at Cisco Systems.

Concentrations: Accounting, Finance and General Management.

Activities: I'm a member of the Management Consulting, Corporate Management & Strategy, High Tech, Business Solutions, and Public Speaking Groups, as well as the Soccer, Wine, and Ski & Snowboard Clubs.

Career plans: I'll be working as a consultant at LEK Consulting in Chicago post-MBA.

Why did you choose to attend Chicago Booth? I chose to attend Booth for curriculum flexibility, the analytical and disciplinary based approach to addressing problems and opportunities, and the accommodating and welcoming nature of students, faculty, and staff.

Use three adjectives to describe your experience at Chicago Booth: Exciting, rewarding, and unmatched.

What do you consider a "must visit" place or "must do" activity in Chicago? Kayaking in the Chicago River and eating the best tacos in the city at Big Star.

Maher Beaini, Class of 2013

Undergraduate School/Major: I graduated from Lebanese American University and majored in computer engineering.

Prior to Booth: I worked as an engineer and project manager at Nokia Siemens Networks.

Concentrations: Finance and Strategic Management.

Activities: I'm a member of the Management Consulting Group, Chicago Global Citizen Club, Public Speaking Group, Wine Club, and Ski & Snowboard Club.

Career plans: I'm going to be working in consulting at Bain in Atlanta.

Why did you choose to attend Chicago Booth? I applied and chose to attend Chicago Booth for its methodology in teaching: they teach you how to think, not what to think. I also chose it for the program's flexibility and the opportunities that come with that.

Use three adjectives to describe your experience at Chicago Booth: Rewarding, fun, and well-rounded.

What do you consider a "must visit" place or "must do" activity in Chicago? For some blues music: Kingston Mines! That place is fabulous. Also go check the Wicker Park area. It's filled with interesting shops and restaurants.

Why did you choose to attend Chicago Booth? I chose to attend Booth because of the quality of education I knew I would receive.

What do you consider a "must visit" place or "must-do" activity in Chicago? Lakeshore walk, the Signature Room, Old Town, the University of Chicago campus, Millennium Park, and the Green Mill.
