Ivan D'Avanzo, Class of 2012

Undergraduate School/Major: I attended Federico II and majored in telecommunications engineering.

Prior to Booth: I worked in software engineering.

Activities:  I am a co-chair of the Operations Strategy Group and a member of the Management Consulting Group, High-Tech Group, Soccer Club, and the Corporate Management & Strategy Group.

Career Plans:  After Booth, I'll be working in management consulting and will join BCG in the New Jersey office. During the summer, I interned at BCG.

Why did you choose to attend Chicago Booth? I chose to attend Booth because of the collaborative culture, the flexible curriculum and the excellent quality of the faculty.

What do you consider a "must visit" place in Chicago? Visit Millennium Park and "The Bean", go sailing on the lake, and go to Kingston Mines to listen to great blues.

Danilo Gargiulo, Class of 2013

Undergraduate School/Major: I attended Bocconi University and majored in economics.

Prior to Booth: I worked in consulting and banking.

Activities:  I am a member of the European Business Group, the Leadership and Influence Group, Net Impact, the Public Speaking Group and the Epicurean  Club.

Summer Internship Plans:  I'm recruiting for banking and corporate finance consulting.

Why did you choose to attend Chicago Booth? I chose to attend Booth because of the network in the financial services industry, LEAD, the flexibility of curriculum and the people (and a call from another Italian student).

What do you consider a "must visit" place in Chicago? The Chicago Blues Festival, an architectural walking tour, and deep dish pizza at Giordano's. 

Ask me about...: How to manage a long-distance relationship while at Booth; how to customize the academic experience (I took no foundations in the first quarter).

Alessandro Salerno, Class of 2012

Undergraduate School/Major: M.S. in management from Bocconi University in Milan, Italy, and Graduate Exchange Student from London Metropolitan School in London, UK.

Prior to Booth: Senior consultant at Ernst & Young Financial Business Advisors, Dept. of Performance Improvement, in Milan, Italy.

Activities: I'm a member of the Investment Banking Group,  European Business Group, Emerging Markets Group, and the Soccer Club.

Career plans: I completed a summer internship at J.P. Morgan, M&A team in London.

Why did you choose to attend Chicago Booth? I chose to attend Booth because of its strength in finance .

What do you consider a "must visit" place in Chicago? Jazz bars, Millennium Park, and the lake shore.

Edoardo Palmisani, Class of 2012

Undergraduate School/Major: I graduated with a degree in economics of financial markets and intermediaries from the LUISS Guido Carli University in Rome in 2006. During my second year I spent one semester in Tilburg (Netherlands) as an exchange student.

Prior to Booth: I was a management consultant in the Italian office of The Boston Consulting Group. Prior to that, I spent two years working as an Associate for Lehman Brothers in London within the Principal Finance Group.

Activities: Member of the Private Equity Group, European Business Club, Dean's Student Admissions Committee (DSAC), and an Admissions Fellow.

Career plans: After Booth I plan to go back to consulting, keeping an eye open on the development of the private equity industry.

Why did you choose to attend Chicago Booth? I chose Chicago Booth to have an International (US) experience, for the flexible curriculum and for the prestige of the academic reputation.

What do you consider a "must visit" place in Chicago? Looking at the Chicago skyline and Lake Michigan from a random balcony on the 42nd floor at The Tides.
