Rohini Chandrashekhar, Class of 2012

Undergraduate School/Major: I attended the University of Pune and majored in Computer Science.

Prior to Booth: I worked in technology and business development at Goldman Sachs and J.P. Morgan.

Activities: I am a member of the Investment Banking Group, the Management Consulting Group, the Wine Club, the Epicurean Club and Chicago Women in Business.

Career plans:  I interned with Goldman Sachs IB, Financial Institutions Group. I am recruiting for full-time positions in consulting, leadership programs and technology.

Why did you choose Chicago Booth?  I chose Booth for its flexibility, brand and financial aid. Booth's Admissions presentations also resonated with me more than other school.

What do you consider a "must visit" place in Chicago? Chicago has some amazing, very diverse neighborhoods and architecture. I'd say getting a feel for this is a must-do.

Prior to Booth: I worked in business development and product management at IBM.

Activities: Co-chair of the Entrepreneurship & Venture Capital Club and the South Asian Business Group, member of Media, Entertainment & Sports Group, Corporate Management & Strategy Group, and the Public Speaking Group.

Career Plans: I am planning to work in venture capital.

Why did you choose Chicago Booth? To build well-rounded career skills in finance and marketing.

Mandeep Julka, Class of 2013

Undergraduate School/Major: I attended Punjab Engineering College and majored in Metallurgical Engineering.

Prior to Booth: I worked in investment banking at SBI Capital Markets.

Activities: I am a member of the Investment Banking Group, Investment Management Group, Giving Something Back, Class Agents and the Dean's Student Admissions Committee (DSAC).

Summer Internship Plans: I am recruiting for sales and trading.

Why did you choose Chicago Booth? I already have a business degree, and the flexibility of the Booth curriculum is what I was looking for. I have taken advanced courses and skipped the basic ones, which would not have been possible anywhere else. Also, the school's communication and transparency in the admissions process was commendable, and I really appreciated it. Finally, I met many alumni of Booth in India, and was really impressed by what they are doing, as well as their collegiality.

What do you consider a "must visit" place in Chicago? The river tour at night (before the winters begin)!

Prior to Booth: I worked as an engineer in healthcare, finance and high tech firms.

Activities: Member of the Business Solutions Group, Management Consulting Group, Dean's Student Admissions Committee (DSAC), Energy Group, High-Tech Group, and Corporate Finance Group.

Summer internship Plans: I am recruiting for management consulting or high tech (corporate strategy or corporate finance).

Why did you choose Chicago Booth? I chose Booth because of the reputation of the school and professors, analytical rigor, flexibility and location.

What do you consider a "must visit" place in Chicago? I am a super foodie and totally recommend exploring the pho places in Vietnam Village (uptown) and Szechuan food in China Town and everything in between.

Ask me about...: Moving to Chicago from another U.S. city, integrating spouse into Booth life, and visa processes for internationals.
