LGBT

Chicago Booth provides a supportive and welcoming environment for all students, including members of the LGBT community. The Office of Diversity Affairs offers a resource and support to LGBT students.   

Admissions Events 

Chicago Booth hosts and participates in various admissions-related events designed to identify and encourage talented LGBT prospective students to apply for admission to Chicago Booth.  Events include Chicago Booth Live Diversity and Booth receptions for LGBT applicants.

Chicago Booth Organization

We work closely with the Gays and Lesbians in Business student organization (GLIB) to foster a more diverse environment at the University of Chicago.

  • Gays and Lesbians in Business (GLIB) - GLIB is an active Chicago Booth student group working to advance social and professional opportunities for gay and lesbian members of the Chicago Booth community. Membership includes students from both the full-time and part-time programs, and the group provides a great way for current students to build contacts with LGBT alumni and students at other business schools. Activities include participation in a variety of gay recruiting events with an assortment of firms in various industries; and social events for personal and cultural enlightenment including awareness events for the general MBA population, informational dinners for admitted students, and networking events with the University of Chicago gay and lesbian community.

National Organizations

Chicago Booth is proud to work in partnership with several organizations to identify and encourage talented LGBT prospective students to apply for admission to Chicago Booth as well as to provide networking opportunities.

  • Reaching Out Annual LGBT MBA Conference - Chicago Booth and the student-led Gays and Lesbians in Business (GLIB) attend the annual conference hosted by various business schools across the country.
  • Out for Undergraduate Business Conference - This annual conference is geared towards LGBT undergraduate students interested in business careers. Chicago Booth has in the past participated on a panel discussing the value of an MBA.

Fast Fact

Chicago Booth was the first business school to offer a PhD program.
