Admissions Informational Events - Women, Minority, and LGBT Prospective Students

To fulfill our commitment to recruiting a diverse student body, Chicago Booth hosts informational events and occasionally partners with outside organizations to provide opportunities for women and minorities to learn more about the program.

Under-represented Minority Group Events

Admissions representatives regularly attend the annual meetings of the following diversity associations:

NSHMBA Annual Conference, October 8 - 10, 2009, Minneapolis
NBMBAA Annual Conference, September 22 - 26, 2009, New Orleans

Events for Women

Chicago Booth hosts or participates in many admissions-related events designed to identify and encourage talented women who are interested in attending business school.

Forte Foundation

Forte events are hosted by the Forte Foundation, which focuses on helping women pursue leadership careers in business and on increasing their access to business education and business networks. Chicago Booth is a founding member of the Forte Foundation and will be represented at many Forte Foundation events throughout the year, including the annual Forte Forum: MBA Value Proposition.  Additionally, Chicago Booth hosted the 2009 Forte Career Lab for Chicago-area undergraduate women at the Harper Center on February 10, 2009.

Chicago Women in Business Alumnae Network (CWIBAN)

Chicago Booth co-hosts events with our world-wide Chicago Women in Business Alumnae Network (CWIBAN) each year. These informal "Women's Week" receptions are designed to allow you to get to know Chicago Booth from a woman's perspective.  Events were held in various locations around the world during "Women's Week" each year during the month of October.

Chicago Women in Business Alumnae Connections

CWIBAN also offers you the chance to ask your questions one-on-one and get candid answers from someone who has been in your shoes as a prospective student. If you would like to connect with an alumna, please email your name and location to cwiban@hotmail.com. Alumnae from around the world volunteer their time to connect with you. Feel free to contact the alumnae of CWIBAN.

Events for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Prospective Students

Chicago Booth provides a supportive and welcoming environment for all students, including members of the LGBT community. We host and participate in various admission-related events designed to identify and encourage talented LGBT prospective students to apply for admission to Chicago Booth. Chicago's Office of Admissions works closely with Chicago Booth's Office of Diversity Affairs and the Gays and Lesbians in Business student organization (GLIB). GLIB is an active Chicago Booth student group working to advance social and professional opportunities for gay and lesbian members of the Chicago Booth community, as well as to foster a more diverse environment at the University of Chicago.

Listed below are 2008-2009 admission events designed specifically for LGBT prospective students.  Remember to be sure to check back often for new and updated events:
