Admissions Informational Events - Women, Minority, and LGBT Prospective Students

To fulfill our commitment to recruiting a diverse student body, Chicago Booth hosts informational events and partners with outside organizations to provide opportunities for women and minorities to learn more about the program.

Minorities

Chicago Booth Admissions staff regularly attend the annual meetings of National Black MBA Association (NBMBAA) and the National Society of Hispanic MBAs (NSHMBA), and host events for minorities on and off campus.  Prospective students are invited and encouraged to attend the following events to meet and connect with Chicago Booth Admissions, Office of Diversity Affairs (ODA) staff, current students and alumni.

Women

Chicago Booth hosts or participates in many admissions-related events designed to identify and encourage talented women who are interested in attending business school.  We look forward to meeting prospective women on and off campus at events around the world

  • Forté Foundation
    Chicago Booth is a proud founding sponsor of the Forté Foundation, which focuses on helping women pursue leadership careers in business and on increasing their access to business education and business networks. Chicago Booth Admissions staff and alumnae will be present at the at the Fall 2011 Forté Forum: Inspiration, Opportunity and the MBA.

  • Harvard Undergraduate Women in Business Conference
    Knowing the path to the MBA starts early for motivated women. Chicago Booth is proud to be a sponsor of the Harvard Undergraduate Women in Business Annual Conference. In addition to presenting at the "Business School 101" panel, admissions staff also welcomes the opportunity to meet with women during the conference’s Graduate School Fair.

  • Chicago Women in Business Alumnae Network (CWIBAN) Women's Week
    Chicago Booth co-hosts Women's Week events with the Chicago Women in Business Alumnae Network (CWIBAN) each year. These informal receptions are designed to allow you to get to know Chicago Booth from a woman's perspective through meaningful conversations and connections with our successful alumnae. Women's Week events are held in various locations across the globe. Women's Week 2011 was held May 7 - 15 in 30 cities around the world, including Chicago, New York, London, Beijing, Los Angeles, and Seoul, among others. Information about Women’s Week 2012 will be available in spring 2012.

    Prospective students can connect with our alumnae through CWIBAN. You can visit the CWIBAN website to learn more about the organization and its members or contact us to request a connection to a local alumna.

Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Prospective Students

Chicago Booth provides a supportive and welcoming environment for all students, including members of the LGBT community. We host and participate in various admission-related events designed to identify and encourage talented LGBT prospective students to apply for admission to Chicago Booth. Chicago Booth's Office of Admissions works closely with the Office of Diversity Affairs (ODA) and the Gays and Lesbians in Business student organization (GLiB). GLiB is an active Chicago Booth student group working to advance social and professional opportunities for gay and lesbian members of the Chicago Booth community as well as to foster a more diverse environment at the University of Chicago.
