MBA and Master’s in Area Studies

Expanding on The Chicago approach which creates a sophisticated analytical framework for analyzing business, Chicago Booth offers an international joint degree program in area studies. Students can enhance their knowledge of and expertise in a specific geographic area, including East Europe/Russia , Latin America and the Caribbean , the Middle East , or South Asia .

The Joint MBA/MA Program is ideal for students planning a career requiring both a complete set of international business skills and thorough knowledge of international issues, cultures, or regions. Requirements include mastery of a regional language and a master’s thesis. Programs take two and one-half to three years to complete, depending on the MA discipline, foreign language sequence placement, and length of time necessary to complete the required master’s thesis.

Fast Fact

Chicago Booth was the first business school to publish a scholarly journal, The Journal of Business, which debuted in 1928.
