Leadership Effectiveness and Development (LEAD)

Larry Gelwix

LEAD

The LEAD program was created in 1989 as one of the first experiential leadership development programs at a major business school. The course is designed to enhance students' self-awareness and interpersonal effectiveness through a series of challenging, yet fun, classroom sessions and events.

Leadership Orientation Retreat

The course begins with a three-day retreat during orientation for all first-year students. During the retreat, you will participate in:

  • Ropes courses intended to offer personal challenge and an opportunity for group cohesion
  • Improvisation exercises designed to jump start the highly participatory learning environment at Booth
  • Social events to encourage learning and relationship building
