One of the key points that attracted Anthony to the program was the chance to study in Singapore, an important business destination for his employer. “I learned a lot about new cultures and countries directly from people who live there,” he said. “I established some great contacts, and the connection was more than strictly professional.”

Jamie’s classmates came from countries spanning the globe, from Belgium to Nigeria to Brazil. “It changed how I interact with other people in the business setting,” she said. “I’m much more aware of those subtle cultural nuances and the diversity of perspectives.”

In recognition of the gift, the school was renamed the University of Chicago Booth School of Business in 2008.
