The morning session begins with an overview of the issues and challenges of doing business in India, which will include information about thecountry's legal framework and business regulations.Over lunch, listen to an economic and political overview of India with key government officials.The afternoon session includes a tour of the Moser Beer factory and a meeting with the company's CEO about manufacturing trends in India. The day concludes with a welcome dinner with traditional Indian food, keynote speakers,and members of the GSB Alumni Club of New Delhi. |
| Tuesday Oct. 21 |
The day will begin with a panel discussion on green and clean tech initiatives, followed by a session on real estate investment and development in India. Then take a trip to Gurgaon to explore this new center of economic growth and visit the Google headquarters. In the early evening depart for Bangalore. |
| Wednesday Oct. 22 |
The day begins with a tour of Infosys with host Mohandas Pai, Director of Infosys and a member of the Dean's Advisory Board. Infosys management will give presentations on the evolution of outsourcing in India and managing a technology workforce. The afternoon includes a dynamic panel of Indian/GSB entrepreneurs that will discuss how they started and grew their businesses in India. These entrepreneurs include: Prabhakar Tadepalli '98, Tyfone; Dhiraj C Rajaram '03, Founder and CEO, Mu Sigma; Ashok Bagri '90, Managing Partner, Trans Infopreneur, Inc.; and Raj Majumder '07, Founder, iMetanoia.Spend the evening at a networking event with GSB and University of Chicago alumni, and TiE Bangalore. |
| Thursday Oct. 23 |
Morning sessions will include discussions about social entrepreneurship in India and a talk from IBM. In the afternoon explore venture capital in India with several members of the venture capital industry. Evening flight to Mumbai. |
| Friday Oct. 24 |
Breakfast keynote will be Jerry Rao, '62, CEO and founder of Mphasis. Afterwards, the morning session will begin with a discussion about India's infrastructure with IDFC Private Equity Co., then learn about marketing to the India consumer. Over lunch, learn about India's financial and banking sector with the head of Barclay's India. In the afternoon explore family business in India with Brian Barry, GSB clinical professor of economics. Later, attend the GSB Private Equity Conference that will provide a global comparison of private equity. Luis Miranda, '89, President and CEO, IDFC Private Equity Co. will be our host and will be joined by leaders in the PE community from India, the US, Japan, and China for panel discussions, followed by a networking dinner. This event will be open to all GSB alumni as well as the larger PE community in India. |

The morning session will include an exciting business tour,followed by an introduction to Bollywood. Learn about this exciting industry first hand by visiting a live set and hearing from Shravan Shroff, CEO of Fame Cinemas, about how Bollywood has evolved from a family business to an international phenomenon with VC participation.Afternoon flight to New Delhi, farewell dinner, and then late night flight back to the US. |
