Learning about the highs and lows of entrepreneurship firsthand is integral to grasping the complexities of building and launching a new venture. Throughout the year, the Polsky Center teams with student groups to host highly successful entrepreneurs who share their perspective and provide topical, career-related advice.
The Polsky Center collaborates with the Dartmouth Entrepreneurial Network to hold a two-part speaker series featuring prominent investors and entrepreneurs. The series launched in the spring of 2010 and included speakers Richard Kiphart, head of private client advisors and executive committee member at William Blair & Company, and Steve Lazarus, managing director emeritus of ARCH Venture Partners.
The Polsky Center and the Entrepreneurship & Venture Capital student group regularly hold Lunch & Learns with featured speakers, panel topics, or entrepreneurship faculty members. These sessions allow students to hear inspiring stories and ask career-related questions in an intimate setting. Recent guests include Andrew Mason, founder and CEO of Groupon, Jason Fried (video), founder and president of 37 Signals, and Kelli Moore, managing director of strategic partnerships at Ashoka.
