Venture Capital Investment Competition
The Venture Capital Investment Competition (VCIC) allows GSB student teams to play the role of venture capitalists to real-life entrepreneurs. These teams' evaluations and decisions are judged by a distinguished panel of Chicago-area venture capitalists. The winner of the VCIC goes on to a regional competition and possibly the national competition at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.

Beecken Petty O'Keefe & Company Private Equity Conference
The Beecken Petty O'Keefe & Company Private Equity Conference (PEC) brings together GSB faculty, students, and friends with the premier private equity experts in the United States. Over the course of this one day event, attendees learn about trends in private equity through a variety of informative panels and keynote speeches that are followed by cocktails and a networking reception.

Workshop on Negotiating a Compensation Package at Entrepreneurial Firms

Marketing Workshops for Hyde Park Area Businesses
Together with the University of Chicago Office of Business Diversity and the University of Chicago Law School's Institute for Justice Clinic on Entrepreneurship, the Polsky Center is supporting two marketing workshops for Hyde Park and surrounding area small businesses.  On April 2, 2008 entrepreneurs and experts discuss how to identify and reach target customers; and on April 23, 2008 there will be an internet marketing presentation and marketing coaching by business school students.

EVP Group Second Annual Charity Poker Tournament

Co-organized by the University of Illinois and the University of Chicago, this conference brings together academics and private equity practitioners to discuss research on the current state of the private equity industry. This conference is by invitation only.

Edward L. Kaplan New Venture Challenge Finals
The Edward L. Kaplan New Venture Challenge (NVC) finals is the culminating event of the 2007-08 NVC. Over the course of the day, the top businesses give their final presentations before a distinguished panel of judges and the GSB community. The judges will decide which teams receive the more than $80,000 in available prize money.
