Leadership Group Member, Ashoka
Since 1999, Lucy Perkins has been serving as a leadership group member of Ashoka, the global organization that has pioneered social entrepreneurship around the world. Perkins has designed and led major organizational changes for Ashoka at both the regional and the global levels. Currently serving as senior advisor to the president, her past roles have included re-engineering global operations to enable multiprogram expansion around the world, guiding Ashoka’s expansion in Asia and across Europe, and even acting as CFO to bring the organization's financial management in line with its fourfold growth over the previous decade.
Prior to joining Ashoka, Perkins spent seven years in international project and equity financing. She worked with Emerging Markets Partnership, a global investment firm that managed over US$4 billion in funds for infrastructure projects in Asia and Latin America. She also worked in the Asia Department of the International Finance Corporation, the private sector arm of the World Bank, as IFC was re-entering China.
Perkins received her undergraduate degree from Stanford University and her MBA from Wharton in 1992. Her two daughters, ages 13 and 9, have been honing her skills as an eavesdropping chauffeur and emotion management coach.
