Daniela Barone Soares

CEO, Impetus - The Private Equity Foundation

Prior to being appointed chief executive officer of Impetus-PEF, Barone Soares served as chief executive of Impetus Trust from June 2006. Most of her career has been in private equity and venture capital, with BancBoston Capital in the United States, Europe, and the UK, Citigroup in Brazil, and Goldman Sachs in New York. In November 2011, Barone Soares was appointed nonexecutive director and member of the Audit Committee of Halma plc, the world's leading safety, health and sensor technology group. Barone Soares is also a member of the Business Advisory Council at Saïd Business School at Oxford University, a trustee of the Education Endowment Foundation, and a member for the UK National Advisory Board, which advices the G8 Social Impact Investment Taskforce.

Born in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, Barone Soares has long been committed to finding innovative ways to break the cycle of poverty and create opportunities for the economically disadvantaged. In 2008, she was chosen for the Independent on Sunday "Happy List" as one of the top 100 people who make Britain a better place to live. Barone Soares has a Bsc in Economics from Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP), Brazil, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
