Carlos Fernandes, '05
Carlos Fernandes is an entrepreneur, innovator, and public policy advisor. He is the CEO of RecordTV, a company well regarded as one of the companies on the forefront of the disruption of the TV industry. Through his role at RecordTV, he successfully advocated for an innovation-friendly interpretation of copyright law, became a passionate champion of consumer rights in the digital age, and began to serve on the "Future of Media" Global Agenda Council at the World Economic Forum. In the area of public policy, he has served the Commonwealth Nations, ASEAN, and Singapore as an advisor on matters related to youth development, technology, and entrepreneurship. For the Singapore Government, he currently serves on the Entrepreneurship Review Committee and the Pro-Enterprise Panel in Singapore. Previously, he has served as a board member for TiE in Singapore and as an adjunct professor/guest lecturer at INSEAD, NUS, and SMU.
Fernandes has an MBA (high honors) from the University of Chicago and a BE from Bombay University. He also has been named one of Asia's Top Entrepreneurs by Businessweek.
