Principal Research Analyst - Security, Energy, and Environment, NORC at the University of Chicago
Matthew Kozey is a principal research analyst in the Security, Energy, and Environment (SEE) Department at NORC, the National Opinion Research Center. Kozey brings an interdisciplinary understanding of the legal, legislative, regulatory, and political influences on the energy field to the SEE Department. While at NORC, Kozey has managed various research projects for government clients, including weekly fuel price surveys for the Energy Information Administration.
Immediately prior to joining NORC, Kozey analyzed and drafted legislation regarding export controls, the international oil and gas markets, and Iran sanctions as a legal fellow for the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Terrorism, Nonproliferation, and Trade. While earning his JD, Kozey gained additional experience in the regulation of wholesale electricity markets as a summer associate in the energy practice of Duane Morris and as an energy industry analyst in the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission's Office of Energy Markets and Regulation.
Kozey has a BA in political science and a JD from the University of North Carolina. Kozey is admitted to the bar of the state of Maryland.
