Big data is more than high-volume, high-velocity data. It has been described as ginormous and very scary. It also has the potential to help companies innovate, improve operations, and make smarter decisions. Singapore has hosted a number of big data summits and is jockeying to become Southeast Asia’s big data hub.

What will the next two to four years bring in terms of building a big data ecosystem in the Lion City? Will Singapore’s talent landscape see an increase in the chief data officer (CDO) role, and how will that affect organizations in SE Asia? Is big data the same as metadata? What strategy does a company employ to handle large volumes of data?
