Investing in Africa

London - Oct 22, 2012

According to the IMF, despite the global economic turmoil, most of sub-Saharan Africa is expected to grow above 5 percent in 2012. Over the past few years, African economies have been among the most resilient economies in the global economic environment. With Africa relatively isolated from global markets, the region is benefiting from positive demographic trends, natural resource production, and an increase in foreign direct investment flows.

As institutional investors look to Africa, what are the African investment hotspots, the best partners and high return products? How can investors navigate liability driven investment and risk management while making the most of the current investment regulation in Africa? Furthermore, is the African economic momentum expected to continue going forward? Is growth dependent on one-off natural resource boom? Is the regulatory and policy environment changing rapidly and deeply enough to sustain growth?

Join a discussion with Chicago Booth alumni and industry professionals in London who will share their expertise and perspective on the current conditions as well as their views on future outlook for investing in Africa.
