Seoul - Oct 20, 2011

Today, Seoul is recognized as one of the most technologically wired cities in the world, with household broadband usage surpassing 95 percent and a fundamental shift in the economy from one primarily focused on heavy industry to one with significant prowess in technology. Seoul is deeply invested in Korea’s Ubiquitous City (U-City) initiative, which continues to boost demand for technological innovation. The project, focused on providing seamless wireless infrastructure for communicating green, safety, and government information, continues Seoul’s trend of early adoption which has attracted the attention and investment of many of the largest tech firms in the world. As a first mover in numerous tech advancements, how will international tech powerhouses continue to leverage Seoul as a laboratory for innovation? What new technological convergence efforts are to be expected?
