The third annual Alumni Angel Awards (A3), sponsored by Class Agents, honored four Chicago Booth alumni for their exceptional engagement with students. The awards are student-run in conjunction with The Office of Alumni Affairs (OAA); over 100 nominations were submitted by current students, with the entire student body voting on finalists to award winners in four categories: Professional Guidance/Mentorship, Student Group Involvement, Opportunity Creation, and International Initiative. Class Agents, a group of 40 students assisting OAA enhance student-alumni relations, announced the A3 winners at April’s Worldwide Booth Night, an event for alumni, current and prospective students to meet in cities around the world to celebrate their connection to Booth.
This year’s winners were Hoke Horne ’97, Vice President of Software Finance at Juniper Networks, Sunnyvale, CA, for recruiting and mentoring Booth students at his firm. Roberto Ippolito ’03, Head of Corporate Finance, GE Capital, Milan, Italy, for his enthusiasm in developing the Italian community at Booth. Karl Muth ’10, emerging market consulting economist, Uganda, for providing guidance to students interested in emerging markets. Finally, Ken Kelly ’98, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at DaVita Rx, San Francisco, CA, for mentoring the student Operations Strategy group and helping it to expand and find sponsorship.
