Retired Co-CEO, Goldman Sachs Execution and Clearing; Retired Global Head of Goldman Sachs Algorithmic Trading/Execution Service
Jana Hale Doty was born in the Czech Republic. In 1970, her family immigrated to the United States. She earned an AB in 1988 and an MBA in 1990 from the University of Chicago.
She started her career as an equities market maker when she first joined Goldman Sachs in1990. Doty was named managing director in 1998 and partner in 2004. In 2009, she retired from her roles as the co-chief executive officer of Goldman Sachs Execution and Clearing (GSEC), and the global head of Goldman Sachs Algorithmic Trading/Execution Service (GSAT). Prior to becoming the co-chief executive officer of GSEC, Doty was the chief operating officer for the US Equities Product Group, where she helped refine Goldman Sach’s trading and distribution strategy as it relates to automation, structure, and organization.
Doty and her husband, Bill, have two sons and live in Rye, New York. She is an avid skier and tennis player. She and her family are enthusiastic supporters of several global and local charities benefiting children’s education and the self-empowerment of those less fortunate.
