Daphne Mazarakis is a classically trained consumer packaged goods executive. She began her career at Kraft Foods, where she managed several of its largest businesses including Kraft Singles, Kraft Salad Dressings, Global Dairy New Products, and Velveeta.  
 
After eight years at Kraft, her interest in health and nutrition grew. Mazarakis left Kraft and founded Tula Foods Inc., a company dedicated to smart eating and healthy living. Under Tula Foods Inc. she built its flagship brand Better Whey of Life®, a brand dedicated to bringing higher protein and lower sugar foods to the market. Mazarakis successfully developed a line of delicious, high-protein yogurts. She secured direct distribution in retailers like Supervalu, Kroger, Whole Foods/UNFI, and Target. She raised two rounds of financing, implemented marketing programs dedicated to building healthy and confident women and girls, and grew sales to over $1 million annually.  
 
After five years, Mazarakis exited the Better Whey of Life® business in late 2012, and remains dedicated to promoting health and wellbeing. In 2013, she authored the Thinking Withintm curriculum, a brain training and emotional intelligence curriculum for personal and organizational excellence. The curriculum is grounded in neuroscience and uses proven mind—training techniques to help individuals and organizations gain clarity, creativity, insight, resiliency, and, yes, even better health. She founded ThinkingWithin.org and is in the process of implementing her curriculum with organizations large and small.

Mazarakis is a passionate supporter for entrepreneurs and innovation, for cultivating health and wellbeing, and for the career advancement of women. She has spoken at institutions including: The Union League Club, Fonterra International, the Chicago Entrepreneurship Center, the University of Chicago, Northwestern University, Kraft Foods, Deloitte Consulting, the Good Food Festival, and the Network of Executive Women.

Her work has been featured in media outlets including the Today Show, Business Week, Women’s World, the Chicago Tribune, Crain’s Chicago Business, Today’s Chicago Woman, and Michigan Avenue magazine. She was awarded the 2009 Illinois Innovation Award by the Illinois Department of Commerce.

Mazarakis serves on the board or directors for Step Up Women’s Network in Chicago. She is also an educator for the PEACE WITHIN YOUth program at Chicago Public Schools. She is a 1999 graduate of the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and is a Herman Family Fellowship recipient dedicated to funding women in entrepreneurship. Her undergraduate studies were in engineering at Northwestern University.
