The 2009 series kicked off in Chicago on December 3rd with panelists Michael Mussa, Erik Hurst and Marvin Zonis. Here are just a few of the domestic and international issues they outlined for 2009:
- Expect a sharp recession in the United States and a general recession n the world economy that will be more severe than the recessions at the beginning of the decade.
- Housing prices will continue to decline another 15 percent over the next year and a half.
- Developing countries that depend on commodity exports for their economic well-being will continue to sink into economic hardship.
