Mr. Brown advises institutional investment clients in Japan and Europe.
His main research interests include analysis of global capital flows, European monetary union, Japanese monetary issues, and capital market pricing (including in particular the possible existence of bubbles).
Mr. Brown is a regular contributor of articles to Nikkei Kin-yu Shimbun and author of several books on international financial topics including: “What Drives Global Capital Flows?” Palgrave (London & New York, 2006) (a Japanese language version published in 2007), “The Euro on Trial” Palgrave (London & New York 2004) (Japanese language version, Springer Verlag Tokyo, 2004), “The Yo-Yo Yen” (Palgrave, London and New York, 2002) (Japanese language version, ToyoKeizai, (2002)
Last summer, his latest book “Bubbles in Credit and Currency" was published by Palgrave in London and New York. It analyzes the roles of monetary and market disorder in producing the global credit bubble and burst. Mr Brown is currently working on a new book under the title of "Euro Crash: the implications of European monetary failure" (expected publication in 2010).
He holds degrees from The University of Chicago and The London School of Economics.
