Taimur Baig joined Deutsche Bank in 2007 and is a senior member of the Global Markets Research Team.
Prior to joining the firm, Dr. Baig worked in the International Monetary Fund for eight years, based in Washington, DC. His last position there was the senior desk economist on the Philippines. During his career in the IMF, he principally covered monetary policy and exchange rate issues in Japan, India, Argentina, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Tanzania. He also worked for two years in the organization's fiscal affairs department, focusing on fiscal policy implementation in emerging economies.
Dr. Baig studied at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, the London School of Economics, and Wabash College. He has published numerous articles and reviews on financial crisis, deflation, reserve management, as well as fiscal and monetary policy in both industrial and emerging economies.
