Event Details

Tampa business leader Robert Rothman, chairman and CEO of Black Diamond Financial Group, is an alumnus of the Graduate School of Business, a member of the GSB Advisory Council, and a long-time supporter of the University of Chicago. His generosity is evident in the extraordinary Rothman Winter Garden in the new GSB Hyde Park Center on campus. During the dedication ceremony, Mr. Rothman called his GSB experience, 'a battery charge that lasted over 20 years. I was filled with this notion that everything is possible, and possible without compromising integrity.' We'll meet Mr. Rothman informally over cocktails and then have the opportunity to hear him talk about his career (he spent 20 years in the insurance business and 12 years as chairman and CEO of the consolidated International Group before he formed the Black Diamond Group) and how the training he received at Chicago has helped him over the years.
