HEDGE FUND ALERT: 'Skewing Your Diversification: Utilizing Hedge Funds and Managed Futures'
A study by Mark Shore, Chief Operating Officer, VK Capital Inc. (GSB 1998)
Mark will discuss how alternative asset allocations within a traditional asset portfolio using hedge funds and futures can improve risk-adjusted returns. He will also discuss the proper metrics to measure risk-adjusted returns so that you are in fact benefiting from the diversification.
If you are a portfolio manager or hedge fund manager, this lecture will provide you with the leading thoughts on risk analysis. Mark's recent article is included in Wiley & Sons Publication: Hedge Funds: Insights in Performance Measurement, Risk Analysis, and Portfolio Allocation (2005).

Vice President & COO, VK Capital
Mark S. Shore is Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of VK Capital Inc. (VKC). Mr. Shore joined VKC in 1997. Mr. Shore's responsibilities include developing VKC's business strategy, enhancing the daily operations and developing and evaluating VKC?s trading models. Mr. Shore graduated from DePaul University in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science in Finance and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago in 1998 with concentrations in Finance, Behavioral Science and Econometrics.
Mr. Shore began publishing finance articles in 2000 with topics on behavioral finance. He is currently working on a paper regarding behavioral biases of asset allocation. Mr. Shore currently serves as president emeritus and board member of the University of Chicago's GSB New York Alumni chapter.
