The presentation will summarize what the digital mapping business is about and how it its products are finding their way into many different applications. Some of these are entirely new while others provide a kind of "location awareness" to applications that have otherwise existed for quite some time. The presentation will help members of the audience understand what's special about digital maps in contrast with printed maps, the role of GPS, the way in which such maps are used and how they might be used in the future. Fundamental to understanding the industry will also be a description of how different value chains operate in delivering the consumer some of these lifestyle changing experiences. Likewise NAVTEQ's historic role in helping to shape the industry and become a leading player will also be described.
M. Salahuddin Khan serves as Senior Vice President, Technology & Development and Chief Technology Officer. Mr. Khan joined Navigation Technologies in 1998 as Vice President, OEM Marketing. Previously Mr. Khan was at Computervision Corporation for nearly twenty years, most recently as Vice President, Research and Product Development. Mr. Khan holds a B.S. in aeronautics and astronautics from the University of Southampton.
