Career Services Volunteer Opportunities

Booth alumni represent a wealth of knowledge and experience about the business arena. You can offer students an informed view of what it takes to enter and be successful in very diverse business fields and companies. Several volunteer activities allow you to help full-time students prepare for the next step in their careers.

Career Preparation

Alumni play a key role in supporting students as they prepare for their careers. You can share the insights you've learned and experiences you've gained as you've pursued your own career.

  • Industry Immersion
Industry Immersion is a one-day conference in September for the entire first-year class that aids career exploration by providing insight into various organizational roles such as marketing/brand management, general management, consulting, investment banking, or finance in a company. In addition to traditional careers, we seek to broaden students' exposure to some of the less commonly traveled career paths. Chicago Booth Alumni can participate as a member of a panel or as a speaker.
  • wInterview
wInterview is one-day event hosted in downtown Chicago early January designed to provide our first-year students with an excellent opportunity to further develop their interview skills. Alumni provide function-specific mock interview demonstrations and feedback.
  • Chicago Career Catalyst
The Chicago Career Catalyst, a monthly newsletter, contains “Alumni Note” whereby alumni can volunteer to be interviewed by a staff member or author an article on career options within their firm, industry or function..

Recruitment

Increasing awareness of the power of our degree and the range of career opportunities available to Chicago Booth graduates is an important part of Career Services. As an alumni, you understand the value of that service and can help continue to strengthen the Chicago Booth brand by supporting future classes. Your own company benefits as well by gaining firm-awareness and visibility within the Chicago Booth community.

  • Serve as a Corporate Liaison
You can help Chicago Booth foster and sustain lasting recruiting relationships. As a representative of your company, you can facilitate a rewarding exchange between your organization and the school.
