Event Details:
In recent months, Ukraine has undergone major political changes. The Orange
Revolution has brought into power a new leadership committed to strengthening
ties with the West. While maintaining good political relations and economic
trade with Russia, the new President of Ukraine has his eyes set on greater
economic cooperation with, and eventual membership in, the European Union.
The First Lady of Ukraine is a Ukrainian-American born in Chicago and is
a GSB Alumna, Class of 1986! Will Ukraine's westward outlook be extended
to the United States? Is Ukraine poised for a bright future or will 'old-guard'
politics present obstacles to the creation of a free-market economy? A senior
representative of the Consulate General of Ukraine will be with us to talk
about recent events and the prospects for foreign investment. Plan to attend
this provocative presentation and learn how these developments could impact
investment by US companies and the growth of trade between Ukraine and the
United States.
