Globalization and Development: The Stakes for the Business Community

The rapid rise of transnational corporate activity and international financial transactions, along with policies imposed on poor countries to boost their economies, have political, social, and environmental consequences, including a widening and potentially destabilizing gap between the very rich and the very poor. Both the threat of these consequences and the opportunities for engaging new actors and strategies to address them have prompted the Foundation to support work in this area. Dr. Novy-Marx will discuss the issues confronting the Foundation and the stakes for the business community.
