The investigations of the New York Attorney General have rocked the financial services world in the past few years, especially in the insurance industry. While many large brokerages announced plans to stop the practice of contingent commissions, many argued that the practice was not to blame for the rigged bids uncovered by Spitzer. However, some may argue that the practice did address a traditional misalignment of interests in insurance between the carriers and insurance consumers.
What is the outlook for the industry in light of the new realities? What insurance product lines will thrive and which will wither? What lessons can financial services companies and other business corporations learn from the experience of insurance brokers and carriers in the last 12 months?
Join us as we get an expert view of the legal landscape surrounding the investigations and settlements and an insider's case study of the impact on one of the world's largest insurance brokers.
