First Annual Chicago GSB Fund Oktoberfest a Hit

The first-ever Oktoberfest was a major success at Alumni Weekend. Hosted by the GSB Fund, Oktoberfest was a recognition event for supporters of the Fund. More than 100 current donors turned out to take part in the festivities.
Chef Martin Wallner of Wolfgang Puck catering dressed in lederhosen from his country of origin, Austria, and offered a wonderful array of authentic food. He was even able to import true Oktoberfest beer for the occasion, and attendees filled up their complimentary Chicago GSB beer steins. Although the weather made it feel more like Novemberfest, the German band, Fisher library, and great GSB conversations helped keep guests warm.
Among the many event attendees were three couples whose support has been integral to the GSB Fund’s success. All three have been donors to the GSB Fund for more than 25 consecutive years and were recognized for their tremendous dedication with signed copies of Freakonomics by GSB Professor Steven Leavitt and commemorative GSB bookends.
The GSB Fund thanks its donors, past and present, for their generous support, and is looking forward to Oktoberfest 2006!
