The Booth Healthcare and Biopharma Roundtable Stammtisch is becoming the must attend monthly meetings for persons with an interest in the business aspects of healthcare and biopharma in Chicago.

The Booth Healthcare and Biopharma Roundtable Stammtisch is an informal networking and discussion session that is held on the second Thursday of each month from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. in the University of Chicago Gleacher Center. The topic of discussion is decided by the interests of the persons attending the meeting during any given session. Topics of discussion have included healthcare and biopharma venture capital in Chicago; outpatient diagnostic imaging centers; electronic sensors in medical diagnostic devices; business aspects of primary care; business aspects of industrial medicine services; the future of healthcare with Obama Care; and concierge medicine services.

The meetings are well attended with from 10 to over 25 persons attending any given session. There is no fee for attending the Stammtisch meetings and no RSVP is required. The meetings are usually in the Boardroom of the Midway Club on the 5th floor of the University of Chicago Gleacher Center. However, please check the meeting announcement display in the lobby of the Gleacher Center.

There are no arrangements for teleconferencing so attendance must be in person.

Ernest P. Chiodo, M.D., J.D., M.P.H., M.S., M.B.A., C.I.H. is a physician, attorney, industrial hygienist, industrial toxicologist and biomedical engineer. Dr. Chiodo received his Medical Degree (M.D.) from Wayne State University (WSU), his Juris Doctor (J.D.) from WSU, his Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) from Harvard University, his Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering (M.S.) from WSU, his Master of Science in Threat Response Management from the University of Chicago, his Master of Science in Occupational and Environmental Health Sciences with Specialization in Industrial Toxicology from WSU, and his Master of Business Administration with a concentration in economics from the UChicago. Dr. Chiodo is board certified in the medical specialties of Internal Medicine, Occupational Medicine, and Public Health and General Preventive Medicine. He is also certified in the engineering and public health discipline of industrial hygiene by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene as a Certified Industrial Hygienist (C.I.H.). Industrial hygiene involves the assessment and control of occupational and environmental hazards.

Dr. Chiodo served for many years as an assistant clinical professor of internal medicine, family medicine, and public health, as well as an adjunct professor of industrial hygiene and toxicology, both at WSU. He has served as Medical Director of the city of Detroit and of the Detroit Health Department.

Dr. Chiodo has served as the Chairman of the Environmental Litigation and Administrative Practice Committee of the Environmental Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan. He serves as an Adjunct Professor of Law at John Marshall Law School and Loyola University Law School in Chicago.

Dr. Chiodo has a strong interest in biotechnology and serves as a co-chairperson of the University of Chicago Booth Healthcare and Biopharma Roundtable.
