Event Details

Based on over three years of research, Innovate Like Edison offers an in-depth view of Edison’s comprehensive approach to innovation, including Edison’s Five Competencies of Innovation that are based on the timeless principles Edison used to generate his record-breaking 1,093 U.S. patents. The Five Competencies are broken down into 25 Elements, each of which serves as a “building block” in the creation of innovation literacy for the individual or team, and corporate innovation infrastructure for the organization. Edison believed successful innovation required deep mental preparation as well as strategic, thoughtful execution. Innovate Like Edison identifies the methods Edison himself followed and imparted to his teams throughout his 62-year career. The book reveals innovation best practices for individuals, managers, executives and employees at all levels, in any enterprise, in any industry. Come to learn how to apply Edison’s essential ideation techniques, strategies, and best practices, allowing them to develop an innovation mindset either as an individual or team member. Sarah Miller Caldicott heads her own innovation and marketing consulting firm, which has served major companies such as DHL, Cox Enterprises and Lucent and entrepreneurial companies. Formerly, she spearheaded innovation initiatives at PepsiCo, Bayer AG and Unilever. Sarah is a great-grandniece of Thomas Edison. She holds an MBA from Dartmouth’s Tuck School of Business.
