We hope to build on last year's successful inaugural DFW Interview Skills Workshop, where Steve Rivard, MBA '89, Partner at Spencer Stuart, and Steve Armond, MBA '99, Chief Financial Officer of T-Systems, Inc. provided sound advice to our interviewees, Aaron Chawla, MBA '05, and Mary Beth Jowers, AB '02, in a format based loosely on American Idol.
Kent Fannon, MBA'76, of Dantoni Partners and Janelle Montgomery, AB'86, MBA'89, of The North Highland Group will join us on the judges panel to provide their feedback and commentary for alumni and students sharpening their interview skills.
Kent Fannon (Panelist)
Partner, D'Antoni Partners, Inc.
Kent Fannon joined D'Antoni Partners in 2007, and has completed C-level engagements across the healthcare industry. He previously spent 5 years as an Operating Partner in the private equity field, and served as CEO of HealthLine Management, a physician management company, CEO of WIN Healthcare, a managed care company, and as a Board member of Home Healthcare Laboratory of America.
Mr. Fannon has held senior positions in multiple industries, ranging in size from start-up ventures to large, corporate organizations. As Senior Vice President Corporate Development at EmCare, Inc., the nation's largest emergency medicine physician and hospital services company, he led the doubling of the company's size through acquisitions, and assumed the COO role at $170 million Spectrum Emergency Care to manage the integration of that company's operations into EmCare. He was then named EmCare's Executive Vice President and CFO to develop the infrastructure, processes and senior team needed to manage a rapidly growing, decentralized organization. Prior to EmCare, Mr. Fannon was Operations and Planning Officer of EPIC Healthcare Group, Inc., a diversified healthcare company which owned and operated 34 hospitals in 10 states, as well as outpatient surgery and diagnostic centers, home health businesses, and other healthcare services. EPIC, created as an ESOP, grew from $540 million to over $1 billion in revenues in five years before being sold to HealthTrust, Inc.
Mr. Fannon's non-healthcare experience includes serving as Chief Financial Officer of a multi-city, multi-state wholesale and retail start-up venture, and as Senior Vice President Finance and Planning of a television and radio broadcasting and production company. He began his career at American Airlines, Inc., where he held financial, business development, and management positions in the airline and its foodservice division.
Mr. Fannon holds an MBA in Finance and Marketing from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, and a BS in Accounting from the University of Rhode Island. He is currently on the Board of Advisors for the College of Business Administration at URI, and has served on the Alumni Board of Directors for the University of Chicago GSB, as well as in a number of North Texas philanthropic and community organizations. He and his wife Diane, an advertising executive, reside in the Dallas area.
