Deutschland! If you are one of those who thinks that the Fatherland does not belong in the top tier of wine producers in the world - well - you are dead wrong! Germany has a long tradition of quality wine production (and consumption) and ranks right up there next to France and Italy.
The flag bearer of course is the chameleonic and versatile Riesling with a stunning range of styles! Germany also produces great Pinots (Spatburgunder) that are often second only to Burgundy and sometimes even better. And there are other great gems.
