Event Details
In today’s global economy, successful marketing requires the ability to communicate across international and cultural borders. Websites, brochures, product literature, sales letters, and – especially – personal sales presentations must be delivered using language, style, illustrations, gestures, and colloquialisms that are clear and correctly understood by an international audience.
With insight and humor, Beth Urech explains the challenges of interacting with different cultures. At the end of her talk, you will know how to prepare compelling advertising and presentation materials that get you in the door, how to meet and greet customers, exchange business cards and which cheek to aim for when kissing is involved. You will understand why the “A-OK” gesture may be a “Thumbs Down,” why you need to keep your wrists on the table, and why showing the soles of your shoes is offensive in many cultures. You will be able to adapt your written materials, your behavior and your wardrobe when traveling overseas or working across town in a culturally-diverse environment.
