Charles-Antoine Leunen (Speaker)
Partner, Freshfields

Charles-Antoine Leunen is a partner in the Freshfields Brussels office and heads the finance practice in Belgium.

He advises corporate clients and financial institutions on banking and finance matters. His practice focuses on transactional finance, with a particular expertise in project finance and infrastructure finance. Charles-Antoine also specialises in company and debt restructuring, as well as insolvency work. He has considerable experience in the rail industry and, more generally, in the infrastructure and transport sectors.

Charles-Antoine spent four years as a member of the finance department in our London office, and is a former assistant professor of the Institute of Insolvency Law of the Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium).

Charles-Antoine obtained his law degree from the Catholic University of Leuven and holds an LL.M degree and a business degree from the Northwestern University School of Law (US) and the J.L. Kellogg School of Business Administration (US).

Charles-Antoine is admitted as an avocat at the Brussels Bar and as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales.

He is fluent in Dutch, French and English.
