General Manager Gary Ginstling will provide a behind the scenes look at one of Cleveland's cultural treasures, The Cleveland Orchestra. He'll share his perspective on what it takes to run a $40M arts organization in the current turbulent economic environment. Gary will address the Orchastera's business model, tensions between he institution's artistic goals and ambitions and its financial challenges, and he'll provide insight into running a major concert hall, planning the logistics of international tours and more. He'll also discuss some of the challenges facing arts organizations around the county. Gary Ginstling joined The Cleveland Orchestra as general manager in Sept 2008. His reponsibilities include overall execuive responsibility for operations of Cleveland Orchestra activities, involving concert production, orchestra union contracts, touring, broadcasting, recording and other media activities. He has oversight responsibility for operation of the two Cleveland Orchestra-owned facilities: Severance Hall and Blossom Music Center. Mr. Ginstling holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Yale University, a Master of Music from The Julliard School and an MBA from The Anderson School at UCLA.
