Event Details
We're delighted to welcome John Robb '99, Zimbra's VP of Global Sales and Markets. Zimbra, a division of Yahoo! since being acquired in 2007, makes an open source, next-generation messaging and collaboration software that provides an alternative to existing calendar and email offerings. John will share his experiences and observations on what to do and what to avoid when growing your own venture.
Prior to Zimbra, John was the Director of Messaging Products at Openwave Systems (OPWV). John managed the business and product strategy for the mobile messaging group which included the multimedia messaging (MMS), voice mail and instant messaging product lines. Prior to Openwave, John held director-level roles at Mspect (acquired by Telephia) and Cellmania where he was responsible for leading the teams that defined product strategy and go to market planning. John has also worked at McKinsey in Europe, Chase Bank in online banking and brokerage and at SBC in new product development. John has an MBA from Chicago Booth, as well as a B.A. in Political Science and a B.S. in Environmental Engineering from Northwestern University.
