Ted Polk (GSB '91) (Speaker)
Managing Director and Head of the Central Region, CIti Capital Strategies

Mr. Polk has worked in the financial services industry for over 20 years and has been a Managing Director at Citi Capital Strategies since 1998. He has successfully managed strategic sale assignments and recapitalizations in a variety of industries. Mr. Polk has completed transactions with prominent corporate buyers, including, among others, The Boeing Company, General Dynamics, 3M, Akzo Nobel BV and Cobham plc. He has also structured transactions involving leading private equity firms such as TA Associates, Summit Partners and The Riverside Company. Prior to joining Citi Capital Strategies in 1994, Mr. Polk was employed by Valuemetrics, Inc., where he valued closely held businesses for legal and tax-related requirements and, in particular, helped install Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOPs). He also worked at The Bank of New York in its Corporate Banking Group. Mr. Polk received his B.S.B.A. degree from Georgetown University and M.B.A. from The University of Chicago. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and is a member of The CFA Institute and The CFA Society of Chicago. John Patek (GSB '79) (Speaker)
Managing Director, Citi Capital Strategies

Mr. Patek has focused on completing investment-banking assignments in the middle market for 20 years. His experience includes successful transactions in a wide variety of industries, involving both sell-side M&A advisory and capital raising for numerous middle market business owners and families, as well as larger corporations. Prior to joining Citi Capital Strategies, Mr. Patek was one of the founding partners of Shattuck Hammond Partners, a specialty investment bank that bought out the banking business of PricewaterhouseCoopers Securities (“PwCS”). While at PwCS (and its predecessor Coopers and Lybrand Securities), he was elected a partner in kind. Mr. Patek began his career being selected for the First Scholar Program of The First National Bank of Chicago, later working for both Prudential Securities and Bank of America Securities in increased roles and responsibilities. Mr. Patek received his B.A. degree from Georgetown University and his M.B.A. from the University of Chicago. He is a Series 7 and 63 Registered Securities Representative and a Series 24 Registered Securities Principal. Mr. Patek serves on the Board of Trustees of the Sacred Heart School in Chicago, and is a member of the Board of Advisors of Georgetown College in Washington D.C.

Mr. Egidi is responsible for conducting the financial analysis, valuation and market research of our clients. His prior experience includes over four years as an equity trader. He is a graduate of The University of Chicago Graduate School of Business with concentrations in Finance, Accounting and Strategic Management. While attending school, he interned as an equity research analyst for RGM Capital, an equity hedge fund with $30 million in assets under management.
