Currently Managing Director of his fund's General Partner, John was CEO/Managing Director of Illinois Ventures, a U Illinois founded premier seed/early stage venture fund commercializing research from Midwestern universities and federal labs. He was a director of numerous firms in clean technology, IT, instrumentation and medical devices. He is also the former President/COO of Digital Work Inc. He is active with professional association, business accelerator and economic development advisory boards. John earned his Bachelor's degree at U Illinois College of Commerce and his MBA from Chicago Booth.

In charge at ISTC since June, 2012 with a prior decade of experience in government, economic development and education, Mark has been Deputy Chief of Staff to Illinois Governor Pat Quinn and an associate director of our Chicago Booth Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship. A Chilean-American who is fluent in Spanish, Mark earned his BS at U Illinois Urbana Champaign and his MA from U Chicago.
